VdB L-48 active link cable is powered by the Tx or Cx series transmitter and makes it possible to generate 48 V Phantom power from the 9 volts transmitter battery. It is thus possible to connect a condenser microphone to the transmitter: very much useful for microphone mounted on boom in TV films where it lacks time to use cable.
