In a nutshell
Countryman B6 is certainly to date the smallest lavalier microphone on the market: the body is hardly larger than the wire. It is built on the same process as some of its competitors set off on drive to miniaturization: the side capsule is set lengthwise, whereas wave input is frontal through tube end. Counterpart for such small-sized capsule surface is lower sensitivity and clarity-lacking response. Easier to conceal (or to leave in sight!) thanks to its size, it requires more signal settings to match conventional microphones.
Our recommendations
In order to reduce body size to its limits, manufacturer has diminished the size of protective windscreens and internal damping. So microphone is sensitive to plosives and whistling. Manufacturer-provided and advised accessories obliterate its record size, and make it less interesting than its competitors for concealed placements.
