SHURE BETA 58A Polar Pattern
In a nutshell

Shure Beta 58A provides a larger dynamic range than SM58; this worthy successor of Unisphere 565 also provides a sharpner directivity and larger bandwidth. It is rather suited for lead vocals, as SM57 stands for backup vocals... Its protective grid, manufactured on the same basis, makes it insensitive to plosives and proximity effect. Its sharp polar pattern makes it more popular than traditionnal handheld omnidirectional microphones for interviews in noisy surrounding.
