In a nutshell

Neumann USM 69 is combination of two large-sized independent capsules (of U 87 type) joined together in the same body, each one offering several polar patterns. The higher capsule rotates so the unit can compose a high quality MS or XY pair, excellent for any source type: voice, music, ambience, sound effects... Because of weight and bulkiness, it is rather intended for indoors use on stand, but a special windscreen is available for outdoors recording.
