In a nutshell
Playback preparation: mainly for music video but also feature movies with tc-slate, this operation carried out on Pro Tools consists in preparing the digital file with integrated TC which will be broadcast on the set.
The music delivered by the production is converted in mono to be transferred to the left track of the two-track file, while the integrated time code is copied on the right track as an audio signal.
The frame rate of the integrated time code, identical to the one on the right track, is the one intended for the camera during shooting. When it is not the broadcast rate in order to create slow motion effects, the sound is stretched and then harmonized to maintain its visual synchronization.
Playback file is by default prepared for a single frame rate at normal speed (usually 24, 25 or 30 fps).
Invoicing is flat-rate and depends on the number of frame rate requested.
- Only one frame rate: 65€
- Two or three frame rates: 98€
