In a nutshell
The Yamaha Rio1608-D is a stagebox/remote control unit including 16 mic/line inputs with Phantom 48V and 8 line level outputs at +4 dBu.
Compatible with Yamaha CL and QL series consoles, the Yamaha Rio1608-D can be controlled directly via a DANTE controller (Dante Controler from Audinate).
It is therefore possible to configure a redundant network, via its DANTE primary and secondary ports, by chaining the Rio1608-D to any other Dante compatible device such as a Yamaha QL1 console or a Sound Device 970 multitrack digital recorder, or even to another Yamaha Rio1608-D stagebox.
An internal memory can be used to store and recall the last configuration before powering off the device.
Our recommendations
The Rio1608 is also available in its improved version Rio1608-D2.
While the D series needed a remote DANTE device for configuration, the new D2 series of Yamaha digital stageboxes now benefit of an integrated LCD display for a local setup.
