Neumann KM 86 i is one of the first low-size microphones to offer three switchable polar patterns. Primarily intended for studio recording, it perpetuates voice faithful Neumann sounding: it is U 87 little brother. Its diaphragm is suspended and the grid offers minimal protection against plosives on close recording.
