In a nutshell

Sennheiser MZL 8003 cable is inspired by Schoeps CMC microphone series, and especially by Neumann KM 100 series and benefits from their experience. It is an offset cable for MKH 8000 series, thinner, with better flexibility and less handle noise sensitivity than its competitors. Like Neumann, it is a passive cable, unlike Schoeps which integrates active electronics (FET). Since there is no electronics in the MZX 8000 body (everything is in the capsule), connectivity problems are much less critical than with Schoeps KC and Neumann LC 3 KA cables.
