So, DC Audiovisuel has modified his famous 8-track sound report, with the same A4 landscape format, to fit to the increasing number of tracks used on feature film shoot, due mainly to the intensive use of radio mikes, always more numerous, but also of multichannel mikes for ambience, either synchronous or not. For example, 24 tracks allow for always setting the same actors, or the same auxiliary mics, on the same tracks, a practice that can be helpful for editing.
For the sake of universality, the header is compatible with all media and backup modes, distinguishing the ISO part (the tracks on the recorder) from Backup (the tracks sent to post production).
This new 8/24-track sound report reproduces the column division of the former 8-track. The sheets, in four copies (white, blue, pink, yellow), all detachable, have 15 lines, each subdivided into three, thanks to a grey lineage. Each column can thus contain the description of three tracks, whose numbers are listed in the header. Three check boxes, per line and column, indicate which track refers to which written indication.
The flap, which serves as interlayer between the sheets, presents a model for the use of header and columns, check boxes and lines. It is obviously neither exhaustive nor compulsory! Each will find his way and how to use this new presentation.
