And the absence of cat tops it all off.
This challenge was met successfully by Philippe Chenevez from Cinela. He revolutionized the world of shock mount, enabling the use of increasingly efficient mikes, therefore more sensitive to pole noise.
Who would still dare use a Neumann KM 150 or a Schoeps CMIT, hanging with jam jar rubber bands from our grandmothers!
Then the Zephyx windscreen has arrived – followed shortly after by the Piano windscreen – a world premiere with its suspended cap and its volume, which finally made it possible to get the true color of microphones.
On early February 2014, the little sister of the Piano, the PIANISSIMO, has been presented at the AFC Micro Salon 2014:
- 32 cm long rather than 40 cm, simpler, more universal.
- Suitable for all mics shorter than 21-22 cm (not for you my little Rocco!)
- In mono, MS, or double MS versions.
- Ball head with one main axis.
- A secondary axis (for occasional handling).
- Mic shock mount with elliptical insulators.
- Ovoid storage shell
But don't worry, the fur is not made out of Schrödinger cat's skin, because, not knowing if this cat was dead or alive, Cinela preferred to use a fully synthetic fur.
