DPA, manufacturer of microphones, who took on a large part of Bruel & Kjaer productions, makes a clean sweep of traditional designs to bring out a quite unusual product, the Windpac. One single envelope of double polyester fabric, treated and specially designed, on a nylon-fiberglass composite cage meant to be collapsed, like a Chinese lantern, for faster and practical storage, is enough to achieve the efficiency of a basket windshield with windjammer, while preserving great audio transparency and unequalled lightness. The integrated but independent shock mount is universal and can be used with any microphone, by means of adjustable elastic straps. Two sizes are available (-M for mikes up to 30 cm and -L for those up to 41 cm) and a belt pouch is provided for storage. The Windpac is ideal for documentary where lightness and compactness, combined with efficiency, are a major asset.
