This new microphone has the same characteristics as its big brother CMIT, with an identical frequency response curve, but in a much more compact form, as if this microphone met Jivaros Indians who would have reduced it by 3.9", causing another 17 grams to be lost.

Unique innovation for a microphone, a superb fixed low-cut filter with a very steep slope, 70 Hz 24 dB/octave, is integrated (specialists call it 4th order low-cut filter), directly at the capsule output! Consequence: there is no risk of sub-basses which often overload the following pre-amplifier stages.

In return, the three CMIT filters (high-frequency emphasis, low-frequency rolloff, low-cut) disappear. The electronic circuits have been specially designed to sharply decrease power consumption compared to the CMIT, ie 2.3 mA against 4 mA.

Of course, Cinela Cie offers a version of the PIANISSIMO perfectly adapted to MiniCMIT, and is currently working on the development of an adequate suspension for this new microphone, a real challenge to continue using a foam windscreen, or even a Softie, on the MiniCMIT.

With the MiniCMIT, Schoeps meets a strong demand both in news, documentary, and fiction, for a compact, lightweight, easy-to-use semi-shotgun microphone, without any betrayal of sound quality, reliability, nor awesome look. Das Qualität ohne Kompromisse oder Betrug.

The MiniCMIT is readily available on rental from DC Audiovisuel. The Smurfs family is now complete.
