Marantz PMD650 provides MiniDisc ease of use and great autonomy together with professional functionality such as: 48V Phantom powered mike inputs, balanced analog inputs (separate level controls) or SPDIF digital inputs, on-board sampling frequency converter (32 kHz or 48 kHz), analog or AES/EBU digital outputs, shockproof buffer memory (in recording and playback), pre-roll function, permanent automatic table of contents updating, good level display, conventional batteries or external12V battery power supply, in short, a lot of small details that turn this primary amateur device into a semi-professional one, with an ergonomic design equal to DAT Sony TCD-D10 Pro II. The PMD650 is a very good compromise for backup recording.
