In a nutshell

Magnetic Film Transfer 16/16, 16/35, 35/35, 35/16 process consists in transferring perforated magnetic film sound to another perforated magnetic film, maintaining same pace (24 or 25 fps). So transfer can be done from 35 mm to 35 or 16 mm (in that case, the sum of the first two tracks is not transferred), or from 16 mm to 16 or 35 mm (in that case, the sum of the two others is then recorded on the third track).
