Beyer M 160-M 130 MS pair has the advantages and disadvantages of its components: double-ribbon mikes are not very sensitive, generate significant background noise and are fragile and humidity sensitive. However, their inimitable colour and their definition have made M 130-M 160 pair popular for selective sound recording in noisy environment, and high-level or percussive ambience recording. Moreover, MS pair is heavy and its windscreen is bulky, because capsules must be coincident. It is supplied with a matrix, connected to headphone output and 6LR61 battery (9V) powered.
