In a few words

Sound Devices MixPre is a dual mike preamp ideal for ambience recording with MS, XY or AB pair. Thanks to minimal size, featherweight, transformer inputs, it's a perfect complement for small-sized recorders like TCD-D8 or D10 PRO II, which have no Phantom power. Outputs are exclusively to line level. The very small size of the unit makes it trickier to operate than an usual-sized mixer.
