In a few words

Zaxcom Cameo II is curently the only portable digital mixing desk 12V battery powered: this is its main asset! It offers 8 analog or digital inputs, 6 AES/EBU digital outputs plus 8 direct outputs (TDIF DA-98 type), 6 digital returns, Deva remote control via RS422 port, quite complete inputs and outputs routing, filter and parametric digital compressor per channel... DSP operates on 24 bits up to 96.096 kHz: digital inputs include sampling converter. A cathode plasma display (or highlight LCD, less power intensive) provides access to menus and mixer parameter settings by using a mouse. Let's assume that youthful indiscretions such as perfectible ergonomy and finish, excess power consumption, insufficient analog gain on mike inputs and a compressor active only with digital inputs (unacceptable overload), will be corrected on next models, if Zaxcom is willing to take users remarks into account.
