In a few words

Schoeps MSTC 64 is an AB stereo pair ORTF type. "ORTF" type (the old French TV Broadcast), was a hit in the 70ies and has been since brought up to date several times. T-shaped single body including two CMC 6 preamps, fixed and paired MK 4 capsules, together with a single XLR5 connector, make its implementing quite fast and easy, as soon as one has found the right location. The capsules, mounted 17 cm apart, with an included angle of 110°, cover a sound recording angle of approximately 95°. MK 4 cardioid capsules must be protected from wind and draughts; so, indoors, we advise using foam or polyester basket-type (B 20/W 20) windscreens, and, outdoors, Rycote Baby Ballgag windscreens. A53M Shure suspension allows boom mounting.
