Eight faders remote control for Cantar

In a few words

Aaton Cantarem Aaton is not properly spoken a field mixer (nor a desk mixer) but a simple control surface. It makes it possible to offset the rotary knobs of Cantar or the mixdown console's linear sliders on eight 4" Penny+Giles faders. For compacity reason, these are assembled in skew and they present soft rubber's cursors which give a nice finger-grip touch.

It measures 9.5 X 6.1 X 1.8 inches in closed position and 9.5 X 8.5 X 1 inches in open working position.

The top part, in which electronics hides, includes push-buttons for assignment and solos as well as connectors relaying:

- Lemo 5 for TC,
- USB for keyboard,
- Fischer 4 for powering a PDA,
- Lemo 8 for chaining two Cantarem in order to have 16 faders.

For Cantar whose motherboard version is less than 2.6, it is necessary to use a particular cable Lemo 8M / Lemo 5M / Sub-D25M whose Lemo 5M plug must be connected to the Cantar Time Code socket. It is however possible to modify in our repair service these Cantar in order to use the simple cable Lemo 8M / Sub-D15M, as with most recent Cantar.
