The Lithium-Ion batteries have finished roaring; they have been supplanted by lithium-polymer batteries (LiPo). Lithium is the lightest known metal and has a very high electrochemical potential, therefore it is nowadays choice material for electrode. But, while lithium cell batteries have existed for many years, the use of metal lithium associated with liquid electrolytes has proved problematic.
