What he (she) thinks about

Due to its small size, the TCD-D8 is a linear recorder lacking any digital outputs. To go to the non-linear digital world with a DAT tape recorded on TCD-D8, the only solution is to copy, in real-time, this tape to a digital non-linear workstation (Pyramix, Protools, Avid aso), using a DAT reader like portable Fostex PD-4 or studio Sony 7040 via their AES outputs. You could also copy the DAT tape to a portable non-linear recorder provided with AES inputs like the Aaton Cantar or the Fostex PD-6.
