The Cantarem 2 from Aaton is the new remote control specific to the manufacturer's Cantar X3 recorder. While this one offers a mixing panel with 10 straight faders, the Cantarem 2 offers 12 of the same type but with a longer course.
Each of its faders can be assigned to any gain or mixing function, inputs, outputs, tracks.
At the top of each fader, a SOLO push button gives access to the same functions as those of the Cantar X3's mixing panel.
At the top, four other buttons are assignable to the function buttons F1 to F6 and/or the two talk buttons. At the bottom, two SHIFT push buttons allow the assignments and have the same functions as the blue buttons of the Cantar X3.
The faders are on magnetic slides completely waterproof, identical to those of the Cantar X3 except for the side sliding edge. A mark at 4/5 of the race is engraved for relative gain information. Each button, which can be detached easily, and whose top is made of grooved rubber for a better grip, slides on two lateral cylindrical rails. This greatly reduces the problems of dust and brake on the Cantar X2 mixing panel.
Heavier and more robust than the Cantarem 1st model, the Cantarem 2 plugs directly into any USB port of the Cantar X3 and is powered directly by this port.
While the first Cantarem is compatible with the Cantar X2 and the Cantar X3 (with a USB adapter), this new Cantarem 2 is only compatible with the Cantar X3.
