The Cisco SG300-10 are small, 10-port, gigabit Ethernet switches. Two units are integrated into a portable rack for integration into a DANTE network with Primary/Secondary redundancy.
In this rack, the RJ-45 ports of the switches are transferred to a patch composed of 16 Neutrik etherCON RJ45 CAT6a D-series connectors, designed for intensive and secure use. The cabling is fully CAT6a.
Configuration interface of each switch is accessible from any web browser on its default IP 192.168.1.254 with its default login/password. Each Layer-2 switch is already optimized for DANTE, especially QOS (Quality of Service) management, IGMP Snooping (in case of multicast flow) and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) disabled.
The unit must be powered by 220V. Boot time is roughly 30 seconds.
On a typical DANTE network, no need to define a particular IP class. The network devices communicate with each other in APIPA mode, automatically allocating a unique automatic IP of the form 169.254.C.D. In this DANTE network, layer-2 switches are totally transparent IP regarding transport issue, but it must be taken into account an average latency of 0.25 ms per jump for audio transmission question.
