In a nutshell

Neumann KM 100 (combined here with omnidirectional AK 30 capsule to get a Neumann KM 130) is the most compact of all condenser mikes with interchangeable head capsule; it is shielded so it's immune against electromagnetic interferences (EMI) (which is not the case with KM 180 series). The FET transistor is fully integrated in the capsule, so that one can be easily, quickly and safely detached away from the output stage by using a simple flexible "passive" cable (LC 3 KA). Its small size and low weight make it perfect on a boom, provided capsule is protected by a foam or polyester basket-type (B20/W20) windscreen.

Our recommendations

Omnidirectional AK 30 capsule presents a perfect flat response as far as 2 KHz and is equalized for diffuse field (accentuation of +7 dB at 10 KHz in free field).
This capsule is sensitive to fast movements and requires a windscreen, even indoors. The lack of low-cut filter can be compensated by the use of a rigid polyester basket-type windscreen B 20/W 20 which acoustically filters low frequencies. Windscreen is fitted to mike body by our technicians.
