In a few words

SQN-4S, introduced about twenty years ago, is a response to the ever increasing request for stereo and two-track recording, on documentary and news gathering. It was the first really fully equipped field mixer, including all inputs type, several separate sends and MS matrix, all this implying that it was also designed for shootings other than ENG and documentary. Like its little sister SQN-3M, it has evolved with years to come these days to IVe series, which has many possibilities: MS stereo inputs, monitoring per channel, 4 post-fader multitrack sends, possibility to take away a channel from mixdown, more transparent sounding limiters... Let's underline that the manufacturer has at last set many controls on front panel and replaced screwdriver operated switches set on the bottom panel by simple switches.
