Times favour easy cycling, dreamy, dandy, acrobatic, natural, therapeutic, but also increasingly urban. The advent of green bike, combined with the industrial recession, and the ecological revival gave us the idea to open a new rental department:
Bike by DCA (™)
The choice fell on a new electric bike named Alter Bike®, manufactured by the french company Gitane, comprising a lithium-ion battery and a 60W fuel cell, with a weight of 400 grams.
Unlike batteries available on the market, this one is supplied as recyclable coils, whose production costs, such as weight, is reduced by two.
It uses hydrogen stored in small cartridges manufactured in partnership with BIC company. These cartridges contain sodium borohydride (NaBH4) which produces dihydrogen by simply adding water.
NaBH4 + 2H2O = 4H2 + NaBO2 - 212 kJ/mole

The lithium-ion battery recharges from the fuel cell. There is no need to remove the battery for charging on mains.
Hybrid electric architecture, by controlling the torque between Li-ion battery and hydrogen fuel cell, enabled our development engineer to conceive software for the management of our own Li-ion batteries, which we use on recorders, mixers, not forgetting radio mic receivers.
This software and its attached electronic cards ensure an efficient and secure management of lithium batteries.
Thus the sound mixer will no longer be searching for a power outlet to recharge the batteries; you will just plug them into the electronics of the Alter Bike® by DCA. Use of this bike will also allow for silent tracking shot and amazing atmospheres.
All sound mixers dream of recharging batteries while going on location; Alter Bike® by DCA permits it!
In conclusion, this new technology provides several advantages: flexibility of use thanks to an instant energy refill always available, no more need of electrical outlet, no waiting time to recharge batteries, autonomy in terms of distance.
The technology intelligently adapts to user needs, rather than the reverse. The objective is to open this new department Bike by DCA (™) on September 2014, for the official opening of our new premises 7 rue Edmond Roger.
