Cantarine turns into CantaRem and reality Wednesday 19 April, 2006
DCA, before public release, unveils the new Cantar control surface that Aaton will display at NAB 2006, April 24th - 27th, in Las Vegas.
Taking into account Cantar various working methods, and after having consulted sound mixers, Aaton at last releases this long awaited remote control, which adapts to any situation thanks to light portable design and large setup possibilities.

The CantaRem (Rem for Remote) is a control surface offering eight Penny & Giles linear faders (3"1/4 or 4"). Each one can be assigned to any of the 9 Cantar analog line or mike inputs, and to any of the 6 magnetic digital sliders. Not visible on picture, 8 buttons allow sound mixer selecting, on the fly, which fader to program and pre or post-track monitoring of the fader under control.

The fader actuators are protected during transport under a swivelling electronic interface housing, which slides under the Cantar display panel, without hiding modulometers nor hindering access to the display panel push buttons. Connection is established through a Lemo-6 socket and Cantar DSub-15 socket.

Two CantaRems can be ganged to control all analog and digital faders of one recorder.

CantaRem will be available and could be tested at DCA on June 2006.

October 2006 update: Cantarem is available, more informations in the news pages or in our online rental catalog.
