At mid-February, the nominees for César Awards, producers, actors and technicians, had an appointment in a famous pavilion of the Bois de Boulogne, to the traditional buffet, a chance to get their "original nomination certificate" in a luxury glass frame, all in a beautiful black velvet pouch.

With record cinema attendance in France in 2009, one could have dreamed that French film production increased; unfortunately it is not the case. In fact, due to a 24 % fall of its investments, from 1.199 billion euros in 2008 to just 905 millions in 2009, French cinema is now using a new "breed" of technicians.

It's a change of course! After bulky, expensive desk mixers, Sonosax is aiming at low-cost mixers with the SX-M32, a mixer at a very affordable price. The challenge for Jacques Sax was to move from a gorgeous Mercedes to a much cheaper, but perhaps less reliable, Tata Nano. With this move, Sonosax is entering the era of sustainable development.

SoundFiel SPS200, it shuts you up! SoundField SPS200: it shuts you up*!
For the penniless who want all the same to start multi-channel recording, the A-Format SoundField SPS200 mike is a must. SoundField is a british manufacturer of mikes, wellknown for developping products based on Ambisonics multichannel technology, like the famous ST350. These microphones are almost never used on feature shoots, only a few reckless pioneer sound mixers have used them on documentary shoots.
